Shout out to Sting, one of my favorite songwriters, on his 60th birthday for faithfully handling his music biz……16 Grammy Awards, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and still rockin’. He’ll be on Letterman tomorrow night.

VESTA

Soultracks called her “a powerful singer and underrated songwriter.”  I agree, and I’m sad she left this earth without her due. My condolences to her family, friends and fans.

Yesterday, in commemoration of 2Pac on the 15th anniversary of his death, Billboard released the top 15 singles as ranked by peak position on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. “Thugz Mansion,” 2Pac feat. J. Phoenix and Nas, came in at #8.  Seems like just yesterday that I wrote and sang that hook.  Still love it. R.I.P Pac.

So Focused!

I’m so focused trying to sequence the next album “UNDISCOVERED TERRITORY”. It’s more than just having a ”hot” single, more about a classic album with no need to press the skip button.  As of lately I’ve been inspired when listening to artists such as Adele, Anothony David, Ledisi, K’naan, Jamie Cullum, Jessie J, Erick Rico & Tena Jones.  No gimmicks no tricks. Real talent and real songs….real talk.
